MENO roles control what each member can access and manage in a workspace. The current roles are Owner, Admin, Outlet Manager, and Outlet Operator. Choose a role based on the person’s responsibilities and, for outlet-based roles, the outlets they need to work with.

Owner

The Owner has full control of the workspace, including access to Billing and billing actions. The Owner can also manage team members and invitations.

Ownership is not a standard role that can be selected through the normal role-editing process. To make someone else the Owner, use the workspace ownership transfer flow.

Admin

An Admin has broad, workspace-wide management access and is operationally equivalent to the Owner in most areas. Admins can manage team members and invitations.

The key difference is billing: an Admin cannot access the Billing page or perform billing actions reserved for the Owner. Because Admin access applies across the workspace, no outlet selection is required when inviting an Admin.

Outlet Manager

An Outlet Manager is assigned to one or more specific outlets. At least one accessible outlet must be selected when this role is configured.

The person setting up the role can select access rules for the manager. These can include permission to:

  • Edit outlet information.
  • Manage categories, items, add-ons, variations, and tags.
  • Manage outlet menus.
  • Manage outlet settings.
  • View outlet analytics, including visits, sources, and devices.
  • View outlet orders.

### Consider shared catalog access carefully

Catalog structures are shared across the workspace. As a result, giving an Outlet Manager permission to manage categories, items, add-ons, variations, or tags can affect catalog data used by other outlets. Treat catalog-management access as a sensitive permission, even when the manager is assigned to a limited set of outlets.

Outlet Operator

An Outlet Operator is also assigned to one or more outlets, and at least one accessible outlet must be selected. This role uses an order-related access rule.

For the assigned outlets, the order access rule supports the complete orders and notifications workflow. An Outlet Operator can:

  • View orders and notifications.
  • Open order details.
  • Change order status.

The Outlet Operator role does not provide unrelated catalog or workspace-management rights.

Manage roles on the Team page

The Team page includes the Team Members table, Invitations table, an Invite User action, and an option to edit a member’s role. The available non-owner roles are Admin, Outlet Manager, and Outlet Operator.

Only the Owner and Admin can manage team members and invitations. When inviting an Outlet Manager, select at least one outlet and the appropriate access rules. When inviting an Outlet Operator, select at least one outlet and the order access rule. Invitations expire after 24 hours, and the Invitations table shows their status and expiry information.

Review outlet assignments and access rules before sending an invitation or changing a role so that each person receives only the access needed for their work.
