When you reach Step 5: Add items during workspace onboarding, choose Import from Excel to create items in bulk. This route opens the same MENO Excel import wizard that is available from the normal catalog workflow, so you can bring catalog data into MENO instead of creating a single item manually.
Start the Excel import
- In Add items, select Import from Excel.
- Download the MENO import template from the import wizard.
- Fill in the template with the catalog data you want to import.
- Upload the completed spreadsheet to MENO.
- Allow MENO to process and import the catalog data.
Use the MENO template
Use the template supplied by the wizard for this import. It is the file MENO provides for adding catalog data in bulk. Complete the template before you upload it, then use the upload step in the wizard to submit the spreadsheet for processing.
The canonical product reference confirms the template-based import flow, but it does not define the template’s individual columns, the full set of fields supported through import, media handling, validation messages, duplicate handling, or whether an import can update existing items.
Rely on the current template and import wizard for the fields and instructions that apply to your upload. If a catalog detail is not represented in the template, do not assume it can be imported. Configure it through the relevant MENO catalog flow where supported.
The import experience is shared between onboarding and the normal catalog workflow. If you have used MENO’s Excel import elsewhere, the process is the same: download the template, fill it in, upload the spreadsheet, and let MENO process the catalog data.
Import or create one item manually
The Excel import route is intended for bulk item creation. Step 5 also offers Build manually, which creates one item using the normal item model. In that onboarding form, name and price are required, while the other available fields are optional.
Choose Import from Excel when you want to add catalog data through a spreadsheet. Choose the manual route when creating one item is the better fit. Both routes complete the same Add items step.
What happens after the import
A successful import completes the Add items step of onboarding. You can then continue with the remaining setup steps.
