Use the Excel import flow to create items in bulk instead of adding them one at a time. MENO provides an import template so you can prepare catalog data in a spreadsheet and then upload it for processing.
Download the MENO import template
Start the Excel import flow from the catalog workflow and download the MENO import template. Use the template that MENO provides for the import rather than creating a new spreadsheet layout. It is the file intended for preparing catalog data for upload.
If you are setting up a workspace through onboarding, choosing the Excel import route opens the same import wizard. The import experience is the same whether you start it during onboarding or from the normal catalog workflow.
Prepare the template
Open the downloaded template in Excel and complete the required catalog information in the template before uploading it. The canonical product reference confirms the template-based flow, but it does not define the template’s individual columns, which fields are supported through import, media handling, validation messages, duplicate handling, or whether an import can update existing items.
For that reason, rely on the current template and import wizard for the fields and instructions that apply to your upload. If a catalog detail is not represented in the template, do not assume it can be imported. Configure it through the relevant MENO catalog flow where supported.
Review the rows you have entered before you upload the file. The import flow is designed for bulk item creation, so preparing the spreadsheet first helps you add multiple catalog items through one import workflow.
Upload and process the file
Return to the import wizard and upload the completed spreadsheet. MENO then processes and imports the catalog data from the file.
After the import, manage the resulting items as part of the shared workspace catalog. Outlets can consume and customize that catalog through menus, availability, and outlet-specific pricing where supported.
Continue setting up your catalog
Use the imported items in your catalog organization and menus as needed. Items can be assigned to more than one category, and an item assigned to multiple categories can appear in each relevant category for customers. Tags can support both item organization and customer-facing filtering.
For configurable items, MENO distinguishes between required option groups and optional extras. A required option group requires a customer selection before the item can be added. Optional extras are not mandatory, and any paid extras add their configured price to the item.
