MENO lets you enable the languages your workspace needs and add translations to supported dashboard content. You can select multiple languages, but you can only use languages already available in MENO. Custom languages cannot be created.
Select workspace languages
Open the Languages page and select the languages you want to enable for the workspace. MENO currently provides 15 available languages. You can select more than one language, and there is no current limit on the number you select beyond the languages in MENO’s available list.
You can also select workspace languages during Step 2 of the onboarding wizard. If your setup is incomplete, you can resume the onboarding wizard later from the Dashboard. The same rules apply during onboarding: choose from MENO’s existing languages rather than expecting an option to add a custom one.
When you select a language, translation tabs or fields become available across supported dashboard content. Use those fields to define the translated version of your content for each enabled language. Translation controls are available only where the relevant dashboard content supports them.
Set the languages available at each outlet
Workspace language selection and customer-facing outlet language availability are separate settings. After enabling languages for the workspace, configure each outlet to expose the enabled languages you want customers to use there. An outlet can expose a specific set of enabled languages, so different outlets can have different customer-facing language choices.
The language switcher appears in the customer-facing intro or menu header. It shows only the languages available for that outlet. When a customer selects a language, MENO switches customer-facing content to that language where translations exist.
Check the languages available for every outlet that will serve customers. Enabling a language for the workspace does not, by itself, make it visible in an outlet’s language switcher. The language must also be available for that outlet.
Add translations to supported content
Selecting a workspace language makes translation tabs or fields available; it does not create translated versions of all content automatically. Add the translations you want customers to see in the supported dashboard content. If content does not have a translation, MENO switches customer-facing content only where a translation exists.
This distinction is especially important when an outlet exposes more than one language. Review the content that has translation fields and provide the translated versions needed for the languages available at that outlet.
Use MENO’s pre-translated data where available
Some predefined data owned by MENO is already translated and does not need to be translated manually for each language. For example, restaurant allergens are selected from MENO’s predefined allergen list. These allergen names are pre-translated across the current 24-language system.
Select the applicable allergen for an item, and MENO handles its translated display in supported languages. Custom allergens are not available.
