When you start a new MENO workspace, the onboarding wizard guides you through the core details needed before you build your catalogue and create an outlet. This article covers the first three steps: confirming your workspace names, choosing languages, and selecting cuisines or business types.

Step 1: Confirm your workspace names

The Welcome step displays the information entered when the workspace was created: the legal/company name and the display name (shown as the business or restaurant name, depending on your workspace type). Review both values and correct them if needed before you continue. Select Get Started when they are correct.

The two names have different purposes:

  • Company Name is normally the legal company name used for MENO invoicing.
  • Display Name is the customer-facing business identity for the workspace. It is managed through Business Details for Retail workspaces or Restaurant Details for Restaurant workspaces, rather than Workspace Info.

Step 2: Choose workspace languages

Next, select the languages you want to enable for the workspace. You can select multiple languages; there is no current selection limit other than the languages available in MENO. The platform currently provides 24 available languages, and you can select only languages from that list—custom languages cannot be created.

Enabling a language makes translation tabs or fields available in supported dashboard content, so you can provide translated versions of your content. Later, each outlet can make a specific set of enabled workspace languages available to customers. A customer-facing language switcher shows only the languages available for that outlet.

Step 3: Select cuisines or business types

The final step in this part of onboarding depends on your workspace type.

For a Restaurant workspace, choose up to three cuisines. You can select from predefined cuisines or create a custom cuisine when the available choices do not fit your business.

For a Retail workspace, choose up to three business types. Predefined business types are available, and you can create a custom business type when needed.

These classifications describe your customer-facing business identity throughout the workspace and customer experience. Choose the options that best represent your business; you can continue with up to three selections for the applicable workspace type.

After completing these steps, continue through onboarding to personalize the welcome screen, add items, and create your first outlet. If setup remains incomplete, you can resume the onboarding wizard later from the Dashboard.
