When a customer places an order, MENO treats it as an immutable transaction record. The order preserves what was ordered at the time of placement so that the order details, bill, and customer information remain a reliable record.
What you can change
The only merchant-side field that can be changed after an order is placed is the order status. Use the status change to reflect the order’s current progress.
For instructions on viewing orders and changing their status, see Manage Orders in MENO.
How to handle a placed order
Before updating its status, open the order and review the recorded items, configuration, bill summary, and customer or delivery information. These details are available for reference, but they are not fields you can alter. If any of those details need to be different, they cannot be revised within the existing placed order; keep the original record intact and use status only to reflect its progress.
What you cannot change
After an order has been placed, you cannot edit the order payload. This applies to both merchants and team members. In particular, you cannot change:
- Ordered items or their quantities
- Item prices
- Customer choices, variations, required options, or optional extras/add-ons
- Delivery or other customer data recorded in the order
- The recorded bill information, such as subtotal, coupon discount, tax or VAT display where applicable, delivery fee where applicable, total, or savings
- The order type or payment-method choice
The order page can still display the complete recorded configuration, bill summary, and relevant customer or delivery details. Viewing these details does not make them editable.
Orders cannot be deleted
Orders cannot be deleted by users. They remain stored indefinitely under the current implementation, including when an order is no longer active operationally. There is no current archive or delete action for placed orders.
Related order views
The Live Order action opens the customer-facing order overview. It is read-only, so it is useful for reviewing or sharing the recorded order rather than making changes. The same rule applies to the placed order: its contents stay fixed, while its status can be updated as the order progresses.
