When a customer selects an available menu for an outlet, MENO opens the menu browsing page. What customers see depends on the menu and outlet configuration, including the selected menu’s cover image, the menus available in that outlet, item information, categories, tags, and the outlet’s branding.
Menu hero and menu switcher
At the top of the menu page, the selected menu’s cover image is displayed as the main menu banner, or hero.
The displayed menu name is interactive. When a customer selects it, MENO opens a Select Menu sheet listing the menus available in that outlet. The customer can choose another available menu from this sheet. This lets one outlet present more than one menu without taking the customer away from the menu experience.
Search, tags, and categories
Customers can use menu search to find items in the menu they are currently viewing. Search checks an item’s:
- Name
- Description
Search does not search items in other menus.
Tags may appear as customer-facing chips below or around the search area, depending on the current design. Their filtering and compatibility behaviour follows the tag-group rules configured for the menu data.
Category names are also displayed as selectable chips. When a customer selects a category chip, MENO automatically scrolls the menu to that category. The active category uses the merchant’s primary branding colour.
A category with an image is shown with that image as a separator or header before its items. If the category has no image, customers see the category name only.
Item cards
Items appear as cards in the menu. An item card can display the item’s name, description, image, current price, old sale price where applicable, and an add/plus control.
Customers can switch between grid and list views to change the visual presentation of item cards. This does not change the current menu, filters, pricing, or cart logic.
Selecting the plus control adds a simple item to the cart immediately when it has no required configuration, variation, or add-on choice. If an item has configuration options, MENO opens a configuration sheet so the customer can choose the required or optional choices before selecting Add.
Once the cart contains items, a View Cart call to action appears at the bottom of the browsing or item experience. Its quantity indicator updates as the cart changes.
