A team member’s available features depend on their role, the outlets assigned to them where applicable, and the access rules configured for that role. Start by checking the member in Settings → Team. Owners and Admins can manage team members and invitations from this page.
Check the member’s role
In Settings → Team, find the team member and use the Edit-role action to review their role. MENO has four workspace roles:
- Owner has full workspace control, including billing.
- Admin has broad workspace-management access equivalent to the Owner operationally, but cannot access the Billing page or perform Owner-only billing actions.
- Outlet Manager has access only to the outlet or outlets assigned to them, plus the access rules granted to them.
- Outlet Operator is for the orders and notifications workflow at assigned outlets and does not receive unrelated catalog or workspace-management rights.
If the requested feature is a Billing feature, it is available only to the Owner. An Admin or lower-role member will not be able to open the Billing page or take billing actions.
Check assigned outlets
Outlet Managers and Outlet Operators must be assigned to at least one accessible outlet. If the feature relates to a particular outlet, confirm that outlet is included in the member’s assigned outlets.
An Outlet Manager can be assigned to one or more specific outlets. An Outlet Operator can also be assigned to one or more outlets, but their access is limited to their assigned outlets’ orders and notifications flow. For an operator, the order-related access includes viewing orders and notifications, opening order details, and changing order status for assigned outlets.
If an operator needs catalog, menu, outlet-management, or other workspace-management functionality, that capability is not provided by the Outlet Operator role.
Check an Outlet Manager’s access rules
For an Outlet Manager, outlet assignment alone does not grant every outlet feature. Review the manager’s selected access rules. The available manager access rules can grant permission to:
- Edit outlet information.
- Manage categories, items, add-ons, variations, and tags.
- Manage outlet menus.
- Manage outlet settings.
- View outlet analytics, including visits, sources, and devices.
- View outlet orders.
Match the missing feature to the relevant rule. For example, a manager who cannot manage menu content needs the appropriate catalog-management and/or outlet-menu access rule, while a manager who cannot see outlet analytics needs the analytics access rule.
Use the least access needed
Catalog structures are shared across the workspace. Giving an Outlet Manager permission to manage categories, items, add-ons, variations, or tags can affect shared catalog data used by other outlets, even when the manager is assigned to only some outlets. Review this permission carefully before enabling it.
If the member is not yet active
Check the Invitations table in Settings → Team. Invitations show status and expiry information and expire after 24 hours. If an invitation has expired, it cannot provide access; remove the invitation record if needed and send a new invitation with the correct role, assigned outlets, and access rules.
After correcting the role, outlet assignments, or access rules, have the team member try the feature again. If they still cannot access it, recheck that the specific feature is supported by their role and, for outlet-level roles, that they are assigned to the relevant outlet.
