Your customer-facing menu opens after a customer selects an available menu. This article explains the key browsing and add-to-cart steps your customers use, so you can understand how your menu setup appears during ordering.

Switch between available menus

At the top of the menu experience, the displayed menu name is interactive. When a customer selects it, MENO opens the Select Menu sheet. The sheet lists the menus available at that outlet, and the customer can choose another one.

Only menus available in the outlet are presented in this switcher. Customers can use it to move between those menus while browsing.

Search the current menu

Customers can use menu search to find items in the menu they are currently viewing. Search looks at:

  • Item names
  • Item descriptions
  • The current menu only

This means a search does not look across other menus at the outlet. A customer should switch menus first if they want to browse or search a different available menu.

What customers see on item cards

Menu items are presented as item cards. Depending on the item, a card can show the item name, description, image, current price, and an old sale price where applicable. Each card also includes an add/plus control.

Customers can change between grid and list views. This changes only how items are displayed; it does not change the current menu, filters, prices, or cart logic. Category chips can also help customers move through the menu: selecting a category chip scrolls the menu to that category.

Add a simple item

For a simple item with no required configuration, variation, or add-on choice, selecting the plus control adds the item to the cart immediately. Once the cart contains items, the View Cart CTA appears at the bottom of the browsing or item experience. Its quantity indicator updates with the cart.

Add a configurable item

When an item requires or exposes configuration, the plus control opens a configuration sheet instead of adding the item straight to the cart. The customer selects the required choices and any optional choices, then confirms Add.

If a customer adds the same configurable product again through the add flow, MENO opens the configuration sheet again. The new selection is treated as a separate cart entry and configuration rather than automatically copying the earlier choices.
