The customer cart holds the items selected for the active outlet. It gives customers a final place to review their order, adjust it, add instructions, and see the order total before they continue to checkout.
What customers can do in the cart
Customers can see the active outlet in the cart header, alongside the language control. The cart also shows the current order type. Customers can change that order type from the cart; MENO then follows the same validation and selection process used when the customer first enters the ordering journey.
For each cart item, customers can increase or decrease the quantity, or remove the item. If an item was configured with choices or add-ons, the cart displays those selected options. Customers can edit a configured item, which reopens its configuration screen so they can update their selections.
Customers can also enter instructions in the Notes field. This is one order-level note for the overall order. Where enabled, item pages can separately offer special requests for a specific item.
How the bill summary works
The bill summary can show the subtotal, VAT or tax display, delivery fee when MENO knows the fee, total, and total savings.
When the outlet has an eligible coupon, MENO applies its discount automatically. Customers do not enter a coupon code. The coupon discount is shown in the bill summary. A percentage coupon applies to eligible merchandise or order-subtotal values, not to delivery fees. If an outlet has an item sale or an automatic coupon, total savings can include both types of savings.
The delivery fee depends on the outlet’s delivery setup. When MENO does not calculate a final fee, the customer-facing experience may indicate that delivery fees may apply.
What happens when an outlet changes
A cart belongs to the current outlet. If a customer changes their order type or delivery location and MENO needs to redirect them to another outlet, the outcome depends on whether the cart already has items.
With items already in the cart, MENO shows a confirmation warning that the cart will be cleared. If the customer confirms, MENO clears the cart completely, redirects them to the other outlet, and the customer starts a new cart there. This prevents items from one outlet being carried into another outlet’s order.
Customers can continue to browse and add items when an enabled outlet is closed, but they cannot proceed to checkout or place an order until it is open.
