The Enable ordering on WhatsApp setting determines whether a specific outlet supports the MENO ordering journey or works as a browse-only digital menu/shop. Configure this setting for the outlet you want to change. When WhatsApp ordering is enabled, also configure that outlet’s WhatsApp ordering number.
Enable WhatsApp ordering
Turn on Enable ordering on WhatsApp when customers should be able to place orders through MENO and then continue the conversation in WhatsApp.
With the setting enabled, customers can use the MENO cart and checkout flow. When a customer selects Place Order, MENO creates the order first and sends it to the merchant dashboard. The customer then sees an order-placed state and is prompted to open WhatsApp. After the customer confirms, WhatsApp opens to the outlet’s configured WhatsApp order number with a prefilled message that includes the MENO order link. The customer must tap Send in WhatsApp.
This sequence is important: the order already exists in MENO before the WhatsApp message is sent. If the customer does not send the message, the order remains visible to the merchant in MENO.
Disable WhatsApp ordering
Turn off Enable ordering on WhatsApp when the outlet should be used for browsing rather than for WhatsApp-ordering checkout.
With the setting disabled, the outlet functions as a digital menu/shop browsing experience. Customers can view the outlet’s menus and items, but the outlet does not use the MENO cart, checkout, and order flow that continues to WhatsApp.
Choose the right setting for each outlet
Use the enabled setting for an outlet that should accept orders through MENO and hand customers to its configured WhatsApp number after the order is created. Use the disabled setting for an outlet whose customer-facing link should provide menu or product browsing only.
The setting is configured per outlet. In a workspace with multiple outlets, review the ordering setting and WhatsApp order number for each outlet separately so that customer ordering behavior matches that location’s needs.
